Mind Your Mindset
Take a Mindset Quiz.
This quiz was adapted from the original, pioneering research by Dr. Carol Dweck, professor of psychology at Stanford University and best-selling author of Mindset: The New Psychology of Success.
The ‘Mindset’ premise is based on our most basic belief about our personal character and our potential in terms of how we perceive our intelligence and our abilities.
Dr. Dweck’s research found that there are two types of fundamental perspectives: Fixed Mindset or Growth Mindset. The following diagram reveals the tendencies of each mindset:
When it comes to money, a fixed mindset can create unnecessary limitations and says “I can’t change my financial situation.” While a growth mindset says “I am capable of learning about money and can change my financial situation.”
An Invitation
Take the Mindset Quiz based on how you would assess your fundamental beliefs about yourself and money. Apply the results of your quiz by reflecting on how you approach financial challenges, obstacles, effort, criticism, and success of others.
